St James Church - living and proclaiming new life in Christ

WHAT GOES ON

Children’s Ministry (Kidz Life)

We love children. On Sunday mornings, primary school children join the first part of the service before going to Sunday School. Our teaching in Sunday School is planned and structured, in the hope that children will come to know Jesus at an early age.
There is a cry room at the back of the church and creche facilities are available during the Sunday service.
KidzLide on Fridays is our Children's Club for those in Grades 1-7.

Midweek Bible Studies

The Ladies' Bible Study meets at the church on a Wednesday morning in term time. We also have various other home group Bible studies on a Wednesday evening. We get together to encourage one another, pray and read the Bible in a way that is not always possible on a Sunday morning. Please contact our pastor, Kyle Barrow (0842116077) for more information regarding times times and venues.

Prepared to Serve (PTS)

We are intentional about developing leadership potential and, to this end, run an intensive discipleship programme (PTS) on Sunday afternoons. Those enrolled on the programme commit to 6 months of structured teaching and service. Close relationships are built which encourage inter-personal accountability and growing maturity in Christ.

Christianity Explained

‘Christianity Explained’ and ‘Just for Starters’ courses provide an opportunity for those enquiring about and starting out in the Christian faith to learn more and have their questions answered.   Contact our pastor, Kyle Barrow (0842116077) for more information.

Our Partnerships / Mission Links

We are closely associated with Word of Life Church, a student congregation which meets on the NMMU campus on Sunday evenings. This is headed-up by Kenny and Rose Lloyd.

Based in King William's Town, Luaan and Susanne Goosen work with the AmaZioni people, teaching the Bible and training their church leaders.

St James also works with MAT Care, an organisation founded by a local Port Elizabeth couple, working in Southern Iraq.  www.marsharabtrust.org
